Assignment Three - Task Two: Production

Filming
Our production of our advert was quick and simple, the group got the scenes over and done with quickly and were eager to get the next ones finished. The equipment we used were the camera and tripod that we get from our school media department, when we wanted to get the equipment we had to sign our names as well as which camera & tripod we used and what time we signed them out then when we were finished we brought them back and signed them back in.

When filming our advertisement scenes we had filmed in two different locations, indoor classroom and outside. In the indoor classroom we had to regulate the light that entered the room by closing each blind because there was too much light for the camera. When we had filmed outside we couldn't regulate the usage of daylight.
When filming we had a director and camera man who had instructed where the actors in the scene should move, usually an actor would move out of shot and would need help knowing when to stop.
When filming we considered health and safety for the crew but there near to no risks apart from falling over or bumping into the camera, we had carefully positioned the camera not to contradict with the crew especially when the actors had to walk past the camera.

Editing
Once we finished Filming we began on editing, we uploaded the footage from the camera onto the iMac computers where we had used the program 'Final Cut Express' to be able to edit together our production.
Firstly we uploaded the footage using a Usb cable from the computer to the camera and using the final cut express "Capture" feature. When capturing the footage i named each clip as 'Scene 1' or 'Scene 2' etc… to be able to check which scene should begin first quickly.
When editing my piece i used a range of tools like the 'razor' tool (which i used the most) to be able to cut parts out of scenes that wasn't needed and ordered the scenes correctly. When making my iPhone 5 logo i had to use the photoshop program as well as pictures i gathered from google images, when creating my photoshop picture i had to individually make 6 logo pictures each having an extra phrase than the previous one to create the iPhone slogan at the end of the advertisement. After adding the logo and scenes I added the transitions to smoothen up the advert, I had left in a couple of straight cuts as well as a couple of transitions.
After the editing i had to focus on the sound/music of my production piece, this was difficult as I never thought which song would be good for the advertisement. In the end i chose the 'Half Moon Run - Full Circle' song which fit perfectly with the advertisement. I added the song by downloading the file and uploading it to final cut express. After the song was added i had used the Audio Mixing tools to increase or decrease volumes of certain sections so that the characters can be heard through the music and made the music louder at parts that no actors were speaking. When my edited piece was finished I added the finishing touches by placing text at the end saying it was edited by me and fully rendered the piece to be ready for export.
Once i finished editing i had exported the project using the correct format settings (such as compressing the file size down) that were given to us as instructions for a 720p video and uploaded the video to YouTube.com where i finally linked to my blog.

Contingency Plan
Name:  Babajide, Edison, Ronaldo, Theo, Usman

Production: iPhone 5s

Potential problems and how to overcome these problems:

If it was raining with the camera our plan B was that if we cant shoot it outside then we'll go inside and worry about what we need to do and what we can do. If classroom isn't free then we would have a back up room to film or we would just confirm ith the teacher when the classroom is free.

Assignment Two - Task Four: Identifying Potential Problems

In our advertisement we will be using music that is from a third party, we will be looking at seeing if we may have permission to use the music. Since we are recruited by Apple we would not be looking at any copyright problems by using the iPhone however the apps we are showing would have to need permission to show. We also have a possible problem of filming cars accidentally which means that we would have to get permission by the car companies to use the cars in our advertisement. We will not have any ethical issues or giving out any false information as everything that is in our advertisement can be done in real life however we exaggerate how quickly we load the apps up in the advertisement, this means we would have to add in a disclaimer on the bottom of the video to show.
